Adam R Sweet was born in Boston and grew up in the suburbs attending the Dana Hall School of Music and graduating in 1980 from the New England Conservatory of Music at Rivers.

In the making of my bows, I sought advice from Rick Rigall, Steve Beckley (Bowworks.com), Roger Treat (Putney, VT), Matt Stamell (Stamell String), Andrew Glasser (Glasser Bows), and Ken Wise (International Violin). Michael T. Sowden talked to me about bow hair (I only use Manchurian LIVE™), and Jacy Sousa (Horst John) made suggestions about the frogs and tips.
